Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) face unique challenges that affect their mental and psychological well-being. One of these challenges is the experience of abuse, which is a serious social problem that significantly impacts on their behavior. Abuse has negative physical, emotional, and psychological effects on individuals with ASD, leading to low self-esteem, increased levels of anxiety and depression, deterioration of social relationships, and overall negative health effects.
This workshop provides a valuable opportunity to acquire knowledge and necessary skills to understand abuse as one of the challenges faced by individuals with ASD in their daily lives. It aims to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the forms of abuse experienced by individuals with ASD and their impact on their lives. Practical strategies will be presented to protect them from abuse and promote their mental health and well-being.
